Beau Rivage Lucky 777 Grand Prix on March 10 marks 18th year as Platinum Sponsor

12 February 2019

BILOXI, Miss. –The 21st Annual Gulf Coast Winter Classics kicks off this week and Beau Rivage Resort & Casino returns as a platinum sponsor and the event’s official resort and casino. The Gulf Coast Winter Classics is a top-rated US Equestrian Federation AA Rated Hunter-Jumper competition. The 2019 event has been expanded to seven weeks and will take place at the Harrison Country Fairgrounds from Feb. 13 – March 31, 2019.

The Gulf Coast Winter Classics series includes more than 1,000 horses and riders from across the United States and Canada competing for more than $1,000,000 in prize money and awards. More than 12,000 spectators are expected to attend and celebrate the beauty, grace and power of these competitors as they vie for the grand prize money.

The Gulf Coast Winter Classics’ featured event, the Beau Rivage Lucky 777 Grand Prix, will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10. The horse show has three all-weather rings close to each other for exceptional viewing, a large beautiful grass field, and a covered arena with bleachers for spectators. Along with the best show jumping in the region, there are food vendors, entertainment, and children’s activities making it a great family outing.

“For the past 18 years, MGM Resorts and Beau Rivage have been proud sponsors of this competition that welcomes some of the sport’s finest equine athletes from around the nation to the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Beau Rivage Vice President of Marketing Brandon Dardeau. “We look forward to welcoming back past participants and meeting new ones that will be drawn to this area because of this first-class event.”

The Gulf Coast Winter Classics have won national awards for being the best winter horse show competition in the country, competing against circuits in Florida, California and Texas for some of the world’s best riders. Over the course of the first 20 years, the show has contributed a half billion dollars in economic impact to coastal cities and counties. The award-winning event has also paid Harrison County nearly $2 million in facility rental fees alone.

“We are honored to have Beau Rivage as the official resort and casino of the Gulf Coast Winter Classics and appreciate the support and hospitality that they’ve shown us during our 21 years of competition on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Janet McCarroll, Event Coordinator of the Gulf Coast Winter Classics. “Our participants love Beau Rivage’s restaurant choices, spa and salon services, luxurious accommodations, and, of course, the exciting gaming options.”

All events at the Gulf Coast Winter Classic are free to spectators. Catch the high jumping action during the Grand Prix competitions at 2 p.m. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.gulfcoastclassiccompany.com.
